We're shaped in relationship.
We can change there too.
Most people come to therapy wanting something to change. Often they’ve already tried hard, and something keeps pulling them back toward what’s familiar.
Patterns change through relationship, not through willpower or insight alone. In my work with individuals and couples, we pay close attention to what’s happening between people, including between us, as it happens. That’s where old patterns become visible, and where new ones can take hold.

Molly Martin, PsyD
I think of therapy as a relationship that’s meant to be used. The ways you learned to love, protect yourself, and ask for what you need tend to show up between us. That isn’t something to manage around. It’s the heart of the work. I’m an active presence in the room: I notice what’s happening, say it out loud, and stay with you when it gets uncomfortable. Over time, what used to run on autopilot becomes something you can see, understand, and choose differently.

What We Can Work On
Relationship Issues
Maybe you give more than you get, pull away when things get close, or keep ending up with the same kind of person. We look at how these patterns formed and what it would take to do something different.
Creative Blocks
Not being able to make the work you want to make is painful and confusing. A block usually isn’t laziness or lack of talent. More often, it’s something asking to be understood.
Anxiety and Perfectionism
Anxiety can look like overthinking, over-preparing, or never quite being able to rest. Underneath, it’s usually working hard to prevent something. Together we find out what, and whether it still needs to.
Couples Therapy
Many couples have been having the same argument for years in different forms. We look underneath it, at what each of you is reaching for and what keeps getting in the way.
Life Transitions, Loss, and Identity
Even changes you choose can unsettle you: a new city, a breakup, a career shift, becoming a parent, losing someone. When the old shape of your life no longer fits, therapy can help you find the next one.
Early Experiences
You don’t need a dramatic story for your past to matter. Quiet experiences, like feeling unseen, being the responsible one too early, or growing up around unpredictable moods, can shape how you feel and relate for years. We give them the attention they deserve.
Where We'll Meet
My office is in Atwater Village, a short drive from Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Glendale, and Downtown. It’s a quiet, private space with street parking nearby.
I also offer telehealth sessions for clients anywhere in California, so we can meet by video if that’s easier for you, or move between the two depending on your needs.
